Scottish Parliament up for grabs
Construction management tenders are being invited by the Secretary
of State for Scotland for the £50 million new Scottish
Parliament building in Edinburgh.
The 21,000m2 building is being designed by the Catalan architect
Enric Miralles in association with Edinburgh-based RMJM. It will be
constructed on the site currently occupied by Scottish and
Newcastle's headquarters. All the buildings on the site, except
Queensberry House, will be demolished as part of a separate
contract.
Firms have until 11 September to register expressions of interest
to the Holyrood Project Building Team based in the Scottish
Office's Victoria Quay building in Edinburgh. The designated
construction period is from 1 July 1999 to 29 June 2001.
