Finance agreed for Edinburgh hospital project

Consort Healthcare, the consortium comprising BICC, Morrison Construction Group and the Royal Bank of Scotland, reached a financial close last week on the £180 million Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and the University of Edinburgh Medical School PFI project.

The design and construction of the new hospital and medical school at Little France in south east Edinburgh, will be carried out by Balfour Beatty Construction and Haden Young, working in joint venture with Morrison Construction. The estates and ancillary service facilities management will be provided by Haden Building Management. Architect is the Glasgow-based Keppie.
