Jmp wins westminster roads contract

JMP Consultants has won a five-year-term consultancy with the City of Westminster for transport planning, traffic and highways work. Under a separate contract JMP is already working for Westminster on the detailed design and contract documentation for the Ladbroke Grove/Harrow Road junction improvement.

Tarmac Topmix is still tops

Tarmac Topmix has retained its Investor in People accolade. Topmix was first accorded the award in July 1995 and was required to be re-assessed after two years. The award is made to companies reaching national standards in training and developing people to achieve business goals.

Sellafield to get wet inlet facility

Civil, structural and architectural teams at Manchester-based Design Group Partnership are assisting BNFL Engineering and Kier Construction on a contract to design, build and commission a Wet Inlet Facility within an existing plant at Sellafield. It incorporates a steel portal frame erected partly within an existing building with platforms, overhead crane and staircases and balustrades with floor steelwork.

Bolton Bosses to unveil housing plan

Bosses at Bolton Council will unveil their plans for public and private housing this week. The three-year plan covering 1999 to 2002 will go to the Government Office for the North West supporting Bolton's £17 million bid for housing investment over the next 12 months.

Clancy wins safety Award for fifth year

The Clancy Group has won an award from the British Safety Council for the fifth consecutive year. Apart from having a low accident rate, the company had to demonstrate good safety policies and a commitment to health & safety from the board of directors down.

New risk manager for Amec construction

Trevor Preston has been appointed risk manager of AMEC Construction in Old Trafford, Manchester. He will help provide risk management for specific projects and develop a risk management system for AMEC.
