Go-ahead for Laing

John Laing should be able to begin construction by the end of the year on Grosvenor Estate Holding's £250 million overhaul of Basingstoke town centre.

The scheme progressed further last week when an application covering most of the outstanding planning matters was submitted to Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council.

The project has outline planning permission for the 79,000m2 retail and leisure scheme, but certain 'reserved matters' still have to be resolved .
