Amec wins £48 million HKcontract
Amec International in joint venture with Kumagai Gumi has won a
£48 million contract to carry out roadworks in Tuen Mun new
town in Hong Kong for the Territory Development Department.
The work involves construction of a new dual two-lane carriageway,
the widening of a slip road, the realignment of a section of Wong
Chu Road, the extension of a pedestrian subway and extensive noise
mitigation.
The contract is one of two covering the construction of bypasses
around foothills to provide an alternative route to Lung Mun Road.
The Kumagai-Amec JV is pre-qualified for the second contract as
well. Work on the first scheme begins on 15 September.
