Romanian riders to be helped by Hyder

Hyder Consulting has been appointed by the National Administration of Roads in Romania to undertake a study aimed at reducing road traffic accidents.

The six-months' contract is part of the $8.5 million World Bank funded Second Roads Project to improve the physical condition and traffic environment of the national road network. Hyder will study a list of accident black spots throughout the country, select those which require most urgent attention and advise on the measures to be taken to achieve best results.

Hyder will provide the technical design and procurement documents for proposed works together with transfer of related skills to staff in the National Administration of Roads and Ministry of Transport Permanent Secretariat for Road Safety. The aim is to reduce the number of annual fatalities.
