SEC scoops up safety awards

Southern Electric Contracting (SEC)'s reputation for high standards of safety has been underpinned by winning two coveted safety awards.

The company received a Commendation in the Construction Sector category of the RoSPA Occupational Safety Awards, while its Electrical and Instrumentation division, SEC E&I, beat 200 other UK companies to win the Engineering Employers Federation (EEF) Health and Safety Management Award.

Over the past two years, the company has invested in a host of new safety initiatives such as IOSH (Institute of Occupational Safety and Health) Managing Safely training for 160 contract managers and the development of a "model" near-miss reporting procedure.
