Mandatory registration sought

The CITB is considering putting a case to the Government for the mandatory registration of contractors as a means of curbing levy evasion.

Current legislation provides that all firms registered with the training board are liable to pay a statutory levy. But there is no legal requirement for contractors to identify themselves. The onus is on the board to seek them out.
