Hall nets £47m deals
Matthew Hall, part of the Amec Group, has won two contracts worth a
total of £47 million, including a £35 million contract
for mechanical and electrical work on City Point, London, for Wates
City.
City Point, the former Britannic Tower building, is a 46,644m2
development comprising 36 storeys above ground and five basement
levels. Matthew Hall is responsible for the design development,
installation and commissioning of the mechanical, electrical,
public health and fire engineering systems. Off-site fabrication
and modularisation techniques will be used. Main contractor is
Mowlem and completion is due in 2000.
The second contract, valued at £12 million, is for the design
and construction of the mechanical and electrical services for the
new Chancery Court Hotel in Holborn, London.
The former Pearl Assurance building is being converted into a four
star hotel with six floors of bedrooms and two floors of public
areas.
