Everyone knows Rako Products for its highly successful Miniveyor
but now Richard Lister and his team have several new strings to
their bow. Rako is now importing a huge range of French-built
concrete and mortar mixers under the Vito and Richier Beton brand
names.
When we say, huge we mean from just 110 litres capacity right up to
hydraulic hopper-fed units of 500 litres capacity with more than a
dozen models in between. Those are finished product capacities, by
the way.
"Although the UK has largely abandoned on-site mixing the French
have not and so have kept the technology alive especially on the
larger units," says Lister. "But down at the bottom end we are very
competitive with units offering electric (115v or domestic 240v
circuit) or petrol power. Diesel power comes in a little higher up
the size scale at around 270 litres capacity.
"The smallest unit comes ready-packed in its own box for minimal
self-assembly and the range includes both site-tow and fast-tow
(90km/h) units. Even the smallest units have geared-wheel drum
tilting for easy discharge into barrows or a mortar board.
"Especially popular nowadays are our sound-attenuated models which
cause minimum environmental impact even when used close to existing
dwellings.
"In all cases the mixing blade design is state-of-the-art for
optimum batch production of uniform mixes. Even on the smallest
units we offer segmented slew-rings so repairs can be inexpensive
and quick."
Rako is also importing US- based Americ's range of electric fans
designed especially for the hire industry. They have double-skinned
polyethylene walls and in some case are 40 per cent lighter than
equivalent capacity metal-skinned fans.
Offered in 200mm, 300mm and 512mm diameters with smaller models
running on 115/230v and three-phase on the largest unit, there's
even a 200mm model which will run off your car battery. A full
range of ducting and accessories including a saddle-vent for use in
manholes is held in stock at Stonehouse.
