£300m City win

Developer, The British Land Company, has received planning permission for a £300 million, 95,000m2 office development at Plantation Place, in London, EC3.

The 1ha site includes the combined sites of Plantation House, Chesterfield House, Guild House and Millocrat House - demolition is now underway.

Arup Associates has developed the new design for the site which comprises two connected buildings joined by a new roofed street.

The seven-storey street elevations are to be clad in glass and stone and the building rises towards the centre of the site to 15 storeys, set back at the upper levels to provide a series of landscaped terraces.

The buildings will provide 65,000m2 of office accommodation including two dealing floors in excess of 6,500m2 each. A number of retail units will face on to Fenchurch Street, Mincing Lane and the roofed street of the Galleria.
