Ainscough wins 'Company of the year'
Ainscough Group, formerly Ainscough Crane Hire, was recently chosen
for a special commendation at the Wigan Borough Partnership
Business Awards ceremony held in Lancashire. The company was
awarded the commendation in the 'Company of the Year' category for
investing £8 million in its business which it continues to
grow. Recent investment in plant has involved the purchase of a
1000t crane known as the Millennium Lifter and a £5 million
spend on plant for the company's newly created powered access
division.
Cosham celebrates with expansion
Cosham Plant, has recently expanded its mini excavator fleet with
the purchase of four new Hanix H35A machines. The 3.5 tonne units
have a maximum digging depth of over 3m and are powered by Isuzu
diesel engines. This year the Portsmouth-based company, which also
has a depot in Southampton, is celebrating its 25th
anniversary.
Vibroplant equipment makes energy
Equipment from plant-hire company Vibroplant is being used in the
construction of a pioneering waste-to-energy plant in Dundee. The
plant, owned and operated by Dundee Energy Recyling, is being built
by a consortium of Balfour Beatty and Kvaerner. Subcontractors
Jackson Insulation and Procedair are using Vibroplant Industrial
Services' fleet of scissor lifts and telescopic knucklebooms to
tackle tasks normally carried out with scaffolding.
JCB telescopic handler comes of age
JCB's telescopic handler has come of age. It is 21 years since the
first JCB Loadall telescopic handler rolled off the production line
at the company's factory in Rocester, Staffordshire. Since then
more than 40,000 have been sold all over the globe. At the time of
its launch JCB offered just one model, the 520. Today JCB offers 11
Loadall telescopic handlers for both construction and agricultural
markets.
