After their world debut at Bauma, Liebherr's range of
Stereoloaders, has been increased from four to six.
The new L512 and L514 wheel loading shovels, which will be
available in the UK in the new year, expand the range upwards to
7.25-tonne operating weight, with the smallest model in the
existing line-up being the 4.4-tonne L506.
Unlike competing models all of Liebherr's Stereoloader models
feature a steering system which combines articulation and rear axle
steering.
The result of this unique marriage according to Liebherr is "an
operating and travel stability normally associated with all-wheel
steering, whilst permitting the front-end accuracy of an
articulated system."
Turning circles are reduced by up to 20 per cent, compared with
conventional articulated steering. Since the 'business-end' of the
machine is not rigidly mounted to the vehicle, manoeuverability is
said to be far greater than any ordinary all-wheel steered loader.
Respective engine outputs of the L512 and L514 are: 59kW and 72kW,
operating weights are 6.7 and 7.25 tonnes.
