Leading international private finance initiative lawyer Geoff Haley
has opened a London office for US law firm Arnold and Porter.
Haley, who recently left city lawyers SJ Berwin, said Arnold and Porter's expansion into London meant that the firm could offer both UK and US law expertise to international PFI players.
"Globally, all project finance deals are carried out under a UK or US law base. Increasingly Governments are taking advice initially as to whether to use either UK or US law, so being able to offer expertise in both is a distinct advantage at this very early stage of a deal."
Haley said that all but one of his major clients had followed him to the new firm.
