URA granted leave to finalise claims against Motts
The Construction and Technology Court last week granted the Urban
Regeneration Agency leave to finalise claims for damages against
consulting engineer Mott MacDonald over reclamation work carried
out 10 years ago.
The proceedings were held in closed chambers before Judge Anthony
Thornton and relate to work carried out on St Mary's Island,
Chatham, in preparation for a major housebuilding project which is
currently under construction by Countryside Properties.
Mott MacDonald gave professional advice to English Estates, the
forerunner to the URA, which is part of Government-sponsored
English Partnerships.
A date has not been set for a resumption of the hearing.
