tarmac wins £50m of brum leisure work
Tarmac Building Midlands has won £50 million worth of work in
the Birmingham area. It has a £20 million contract from
developers Richardson Cordwell for the design and construction of
the Five Ways Leisure complex at Broad Street, which includes a
12-screen cinema. It also has the initial phase of a £50
million project to turn the former Royal Mail sorting office into a
200-bed hotel, health club, 140 apartments and 950-space car park.
Tarmac also has a £12.4 million contract to build a
nine-storey office block at Brindleyplace for developer
Argent.
taywood to build glass factory
Taylor Woodrow has been awarded a £10.4 million contract by
Saint-Gobain UK to design and construct a float glass manufacturing
factory at Eggborough, Selby in North Yorkshire. Saint-Gobain will
procure and manage the installation of the process equipment valued
at £50 million. The 0.5km-long factory will have the capacity
to manufacture around 185,000 tonnes of float glass per year.
dudley redevelopment for amec
Amec Developments and Greenalls Hotel and Leisure have submitted a
planning application to build a 552m2 cinema, 3,220m2 family
entertainment centre and 100-bed hotel with bars and restaurants as
the first phase of the Castle Gate Park project which will
redevelop a derelict 19ha site in Dudley town centre. The remainder
of the site will be taken up by a 23,920m2 business park.
