AMPL wins facilities management contract

AMPL has won the contract to provide facilities management services
at three quarries owned by Tarmac Quarry Products for the next six
years.
The fixed cost 'materials handling' deal - the largest package to be awarded to date - has a contract revenue value to AMPL of approximately £10 million.
Whilst AMPL as part of the deal has acquired the existing machinery at the quarries in alliance with Marubeni Komatsu, the company is replacing this with 20 items of new plant worth more than £3 million in order to meet the client's production requirements.
The 18 equipment operators and fitters who have transferred to AMPL from Tarmac will form part of the team running and maintaining the new machines on site.
