Sykes' saviour to go
by Keren Sall
Eric Hook, the man responsible for bringing Midlands group Andrews
Sykes back to life after the brink of ruin in 1994, is to leave the
company at the end of July. He will not receive any compensation
from the company and has yet to find a position.
Hook, who has been chief executive for more than five years told
CJ: "After five years with the same company I feel it is time for
me to move on. I am ambitious and want to work for a larger
company. The move is at my instigation."
Hook, aged 45, will be replaced by group operations director John
Hall as interim managing director while the company looks around
for a successor.
The group's 1997 annual report showed Hook earned £231,507
with another £874,000 worth of accrued benefits in an
incentive scheme.
