DJ Higgins wins housing work
DJ Higgins and Sons has won a £35 million social housing
partnering project with Pollards Hill Housing Association for work
on an estate in the London Borough of Merton.
The five-phase scheme involves the regeneration of the Pollards
Hill Estate. The first phase includes the construction of 191 new
homes as well as the refurbishment of 671 system-built Wates and
Wimpey flats and maisonettes.
The other partners in the Pollards Hill regeneration scheme are HTA
Architects, cost consultants Bucknall Austin and structural
engineers Michael Dyson Associates. Local residents will be given
top priority for work and training opportunities on the site. A
construction charter was signed this month with the People for
Action organisation and Pollards Hill Housing Association, which is
part of the Moat Housing Group.
