Reading John Kelly's letter prompted me to write and agree that fuel oil prices charged by hire companies on plant are exorbitant.
We were recently charged 42p per litre for gas oil, which we can purchase for 9.1p per litre.
And not only this, we were also charged for 135 litres - the capacity of the tank was 100 litres - when delivered to site and charged the same amount again when the plant was off-hired/terminated until the error was pointed out. We are still awaiting a credit note for the difference.
