Wellingborough-based B-Trac Equipment, distributors of Vermeer
underground and environmental equipment has completed a management
buy-out from Barcom with support from Grant Thornton's Northampton
corporate finance team and county solicitors Toller Hales and
Collcutt.
Founded in 1992, B-Trac is the sole distributor for Vermeer
industrial products in the United Kingdom and Ireland, ranging from
directional boring equipment to tub grinders and trenchers, with
annual sales of £5 million.
Mark Brockway of Grant Thornton led negotiations and arranged
funding via HSBC. John Keeble of Toller Hales and acted as legal
adviser to the deal.
Keeble said: "There is huge potential in the UK and Ireland for
trenchless technology and recent legislation outlawing the burning
of wood waste creates opportunities for B-Trac.
The MBO has had the full support of US-based manufacturer
Vermeer.
Martin Wright who will stay on with B-Trac as managing director
said: "This is a new beginning for B-Trac. We shall be pushing for
continued growth from developing this specialist market to its
full."
