BSL and M4I develop benchmarking plan
by Graham Ridout
The Movement 4 Innovation has teamed up with software house
Building Software Limited (BSL) to develop a special program to
benchmark organisations.
BSL director Simon Pinkney said the software house had been working
with Alan Crane, the head of the movement, to develop a system that
measures and monitors the key performance indicators of an
organisation.
The programme can be used to record KPI's at various stages in the
life of a project from design, construction, through to the
post-completion phase. Pinkney said that the system, part of a
suite of programmes called Contrack, will capture a firms' own
KPI's and produce a graph to show where these fit against the
industry averages. It can also be used to compare how different
parties and professions on a project are performing relative to one
another, and to measure building costs (pounds per metre squared)
or variances in professional fees.
Pinkney said the software had received a lot of interest from
clients.
