BOXTEXT: Timetable to Kosovo regeneration...
Over a period of three months £19.5 million has been set aside
by the European Union Agency to make quick repairs to vital
utilities (power and water), installing Bailey bridges and sourcing
aggregates. It all starts...now.
Starting in the year 2000: £77.8 million will be made
available for upgrading systems, repairing and building hospitals,
permanent bridges, maintaining the airport terminal, quarry
upgrading and building a new power station.
From 2003 - and expected to last for 10 years - a budget of more
than £450 million will attempt to drag the province fully into
the 21st century with a modern airport terminal and perhaps
generating so much power that the excess can be exported.
