Rialto/Frogmore get Paddington go-ahead
Rialto Homes and Frogmore Estates received detailed planning
permission last week for their £150 million residential and
commercial development in Paddington Basin, west London. The scheme
will provide 472 apartments and 3,680m2 of offices, restaurants and
shops fronting directly onto the Grand Union Canal and Praed
Street.
The development will form the first phase of a major urban
regeneration project set around Paddington Basin. The later plans
include a series of public squares, a new piazza at the head of the
basin itself, together with a range of waterside cafes,
restaurants, shopping and enhanced public access along the canal to
Little Venice.
l Rialto Homes also received outline planning permission last week
for a mixed development on the River Thames in west London. The
scheme, which is being undertaken in partnership with Fairview New
Homes, comprises 350 units, shops, and a hotel and leisure facility
at Ferry Lane, Old Brentford, opposite Kew Gardens. Demolition work
has begun and construction should start in early August.
Rialto and partners LCR Developments and Frogmore Estates are also
about to resubmit a planning application for some 600 units in a
mixed use scheme at York Road, Wandsworth in London.
