Women to aid Africa

Tradeswomen from Britain will soon be jetting off to South Africa to help build a community centre with women from the local township.

London Women and Manual Trades has formed a project partnership with the Khuphuka Training Centre in Durban following a successful application to the international grants programme of the National Lotteries Board.

As there are few trained women builders in South Africa, local women will receive training both in the workshop and on site.

At the end of the project the community centre will be owned and controlled by the township women.
