CIoB pair in suspension allegations

The Chartered Institute of Building is refusing to make any comment over allegations that the managing director and a director of the CIoB's commercial arm have been suspended from their jobs.

Sources within the industry claim that Julian Barlow - managing director of Englemere Limited - and director, Nichola Winter, were suspended two weeks ago and that CIoB employees were informed about the move.

However, CIoB chief executive Keith Banbury told CJ: "It is an internal matter. It would be wrong for me to comment at this stage. We will make an announcement at some stage."
