Barwick £2.95m Kent hospice win
Contractor RJ Barwick of Dover has won a £2.95 million,
60-week contract to build a new hospice for Pilgrims Hospice Ltd at
Willesborough, near Ashford in Kent.
The hospice will cater for 22 in-patients as well as having a large
day centre. All the accommodation has been designed by architect
Leonard Barlow Associates to face south.
The building is of traditional construction with brick and block
cavity walls, concrete floors, and clay tiled pitched roofs.
The building is a mix of one and two storeys with the main
entrance, administration area, chapel, staff rooms and kitchens
located in a single storey extension.
The scheme, which is due for completion by October 2000, will be
project managed by McComb Partnership.
