Balfour Beatty wins £60m track renewals

Balfour Beatty Rail Renewals has had its Southern Zone Plain Line track renewals contract extended by a further two years from 2001 until 2003. The additional two years adds some £60 million worth of work to the existing contract.

BBRR is the first contractor to have a renewals contract extended in this way. The award reflects the company's performance so far and its commitment towards finding future efficiencies and innovations - particularly in respect of avoiding disruption to the busiest parts of the rail network.
