pompey pirtek franchise bought

The Portsmouth franchise of on-site hydraulic hose replacement specialists Pirtek has been bought by Peter Stonestreet. The franchise employs four staff and operates three fully-equipped mobile service vehicles from its depot on the Airport Industrial area. The Portsmouth Pirtek was set up in 1996 by Tony Waring, following his success in Southampton.

avery berkel wins sita quarries upgrade

The specialist Transport Weighing Division of Avery Berkel has secured a prestigious order to upgrade the existing weighbridge systems at every landfill and quarry site managed by SITA in the United Kingdom. The system needed to be compatible with all existing weighbridges and also integrate with SITA's company-wide business system, which is managed from three regional offices in Bladon, Poole and Stamford.

citb to inject £50 million for training

The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) is to inject £50 million in grants to provide training through its 1999/2000 Grants Scheme. This will be £5 million up on the amount expected to be used in the 1998/1999 Grants Scheme year.
