ge capital to supply £6m of vehicles/plant
GE Capital Equipment Services has announced a £6 million deal
with civil engineering contractor TJ Brent to supply its major
vehicle and plant requirements. Brent plant manager, Tony Hill,
said: "We work extensively throughout the UK on civil engineering
projects and specialist utility contracting. We offer nationwide
support, and emergency cover 24 hours-a-day, 365 days-a-year and it
is vital that we are backed by a rental company that provides the
same high level of service."
brandon buys west hampstead for £800k
Brandon Hire has purchased West Hampstead Plant Hire for
£800,000. West Hampstead Plant Hire operates two tool hire
centres at West Hampstead and Maida Vale in West London. "This
acquisition means we now have 11 branches inside the M25, where we
had none 18 months ago," said Charles Skinner, chief executive of
Brandon. "These are our first branches north of the Thames in
London."
moffett invests £250k in design facility
Moffett Engineering has invested £250,000 in its engineering
and design facility in Dundalk, Ireland. Design offices have been
built with 3D solid modelling technology (Pro/Engineer software),
prototype workshops and a test laboratory. "Our latest investment
is boosting an important process which constantly reviews and tests
today's equipment with a view to meeting tomorrow's demands," said
Moffett's managing director, Seamus Murchan.
heyrod uses peri climbing platforms
Heyrod Construction, in association with Alfred McAlpine Special
Projects, is using a combination of PERI's TRIO panel formwork and
CB 240 climbing platforms to construct three concrete silos on the
£70 million Sonae Knowsley project. Heyrod saw both the level
'no-trip' platform construction and the ability to retract the
formwork without removing it from the carriage as great benefits.
