M4I revamp
by Kathy Watson
The Movement for Innovation is revamping its organisation in a bid
to attract fee-paying members now that its Government subsidy is
being reduced.
It plans a more central role for its cluster groups, which were set
up to share information. In future, the groups will forge closer
links with regional development associations, local government
offices, institutions and academia.
Under the proposed system, M4I will set up four tiers of membership
to what are tentatively being called network clubs.
The movement expects to spend around £1.3m this financial
year, half of which it will have to raise itself, as a consequence
of taking over financial control from the Department of the
Environment Transport and the Regions.
