Civil contractors get £600m CTRL boost


The hard-pressed civil engineering sector has been given a boost with the announcement that a dozen organisations have been invited to tender for five contracts, worth £600m, that form part of the second section of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link. The work includes 20km of tunnelling to take high-speed trains from Ebbsfleet in north Kent under the River Thames through east London and into a new terminal at St Pancras.
