E-commerce to cut costs

An e-commerce buying club for constructional steel contractors could save its members up to 50% of the cost of business supplies.

Dr Derek Tordoff, director general of the 180-member British Constructional Steelwork Association, said half a dozen suppliers are interested in the scheme, which could be up and running by June. BCSA members could benefit from group buying of supplies such as stationary, computers, office furniture and cars. The scheme will be available to members via the associations web site.
