Scots school shortlisted to two

The shortlist for an £18m PFI education project for Aberdeenshire Council has gone down from three to two. Remaining on the shortlist are the consortium of WS Atkins/Morrison and the Robertson Group; losing out is Jarvis. The scheme involves the design, constructing, funding and operation of a new secondary school and two primary schools, including special educational needs accommodation in Oldmeldrum and Banff.

MoD whitehall redevelopment set to start

The Kvaerner/Amey/Hyder/Innisfree consortium has reached financial close on the Ministry of Defence's £340m project to redevelop and modernise its headquarters in Whitehall, London.

police Call centre win for try accord

Try Accord, building, infrastructure and maintenance specialists, has been commissioned to build a new call centre for the Kent Police at its headquarters in a £4m deal. The 3000m2 two-storey block will incorporate a steel portal frame on reinforced concrete beams, with cedar clad external walls. The project is expected to take 43 weeks.

£80m water project for Balfour Beatty

Engineering, construction and services group Balfour Beatty has reached financial close on the £80m Aberdeen Waste Water project under the government's private finance initiative.

Walter Llewellyn and Son gets it deal

London-based Walter Llewellyn and Son will be using a £4.5m contract with Harlow Council and East Thames Housing Group to achieve "a paperless contract" and trying out new IT systems. The contract involves building a youth scheme facility.

ASHE Awarded £3.3m residential contract

Ashe Construction has won a £3.3m contract to build a residential home for the Jewish community in London. The Friern Barnet development will be ready for 59 elderly residents in April 2001.
