Redundancies predicted at industry confederation
The annual general meeting of the Construction Confederation today
(7 June) will reveal further upheaval at the contractors'
organisation. A "re-alignment" of the technical department spells
about 10 redundancies.
A spokesman said the department was not being closed down. But,
following a six-month review of member services, its emphasis was
changing to encompass such matters as e-commerce, the environment,
and sustainability.
The confederation is expected to report a better financial
performance over the past 12 months. In the previous two years, it
had an operating deficit of over £100,000.
