HBG wins hospital contracts

HBG Construction has secured two new hospital projects in the public and private sector.

In Hull, the contractor has won a £6m contract to build a 38-bed private health care unit on land leased from Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust. The Nuffield Hospital is due for completion in July 2001.

Several local consultants are involved in the project, including FJ Architects from Wakefield, York structural engineer Gifford and Partners and Harrogate services engineer DSSR.

The national contractor will also be building a £4.5m radiotherapy and oncology unit at Lincoln Hospital.

The unit has been designed by Building Design Partnership and the facility will be complete in August 2001.
