A suitable Case for treatment
by Ian Brown
A Case 95XT skid steer loader is being used to help former drug
users at Willowdene Farm Drug Rehabilitation Centre near
Bridgnorth, Shropshire.
Up to15 pupils (10 of whom may be residents) can be trained at any
one time and there are seven full-time staff members including the
centre's founders John and Jenny Home.
The skid steer is the latest recruit in the armoury of equipment
designed to help inmates get back into mainstream society by
helping them to develop skills which are useful in job-seeking. The
centre specialises in small plant operation, arboriculture and
chainsaw operation.
John Home said "We firmly believe in thorough training for our
residents who normally stay with us for a year. As they approach
the end of their stay we make a determined effort to find them full
time employment. In our experience that is usually followed by
permanent accommodation. To date we have achieved a 96% success
rate in finding jobs for our residents, a fact of which we're very
proud."
Saville Tractors supplied the 95XT fitted with four-in-one bucket
and pallet forks.
