WS Atkins picks up pair of highways deals
WS Atkins has picked up a pair of highways and transport deals in
Bradford and Hampshire.
WS Atkins' highway services arm, Atmos, has won a three-year
maintenance contract with the City of Bradford worth £6m a
year. The contract will involve more than 100 staff, who will be
responsible for the maintenance of 1,650km carriageway within the
city.
In Hampshire the county council has chosen WS Atkins to develop and
implement its local transport plan in a three-year, £1m a year
partnership agreement.
Meanwhile, WS Atkins has created a shared services facility (SSF)
in Worcester. The SSF will open on 2 January 2002, housing the
group's entire UK accounting services staff. IT, human resources,
payroll, marketing and other central support services will also
transfer to the SSF during the year.
The facility will also be used to offer outsourcing of public
sector clients' support services.
