Gleeson awarded £35m Sheffield development job
by Glenda Thisdell
MJ Gleeson's northern construction division has secured a
large-scale mixed residential and retail development in Sheffield
worth £35m.
The development, known as West One, which Gleeson describes as the
largest in Sheffield for 10 years, will incorporate 39,500m2 of
land at the heart of the Devonshire Quarter in the city
centre.
City Estates is the developer and Carey Jones is the
architect.
The development will be built in three phases over two years. West
One will provide up to 475 luxury apartments, underground parking,
a retail area and a health and fitness centre.
Gleeson regional director Neil Robertson said the scheme would
contribute to the city's "already affluent and cosmopolitan feel".
