Lottery winner dumps JCB

After 20 years operating a JCB backhoe, Barry Moss' numbers came up in a big way. A very big way. In fact a £7.5m big way when he won the National Lottery.

After earning an honest living driving earthmoving equipment for two decades, Moss wasn't going to spin the old lie: "It won't change my life."

It did. Moss quit his £350-a-week job with Sillars (B&CE) of Hartlepool.

And just to prove it, the 57 year old visited the JCB headquarters and climbed aboard a 3CX once more to bury his hard hat and overalls for good. Uttoxeter Town Band trumpeter Guy Radford sounded The Last Post.

Moss and his partner of 20 years, Pat Heriott, discovered the lottery numbers were up during a family barbecue. "Although I have not decided what I am going to do in the future, one thing is for certain, I won't be climbing aboard a digger again to earn my living," he said.
