Saunders gets Moby Dick wheel washer
Saunders Highway Equipment has become the sole UK concessionaire
for the Moby Dick range of truck-wheel washers. Saunders director
Ken Beadle says the Moby Dick Junior is especially suited to the
needs of the construction industry as it can be moved easily from
one site to the next.
The Junior has two powered rollers to rotate the wheels of one axle
at a time, while high-pressure water jets (1,600 litres/min at
4bar) wash off the mud.
Installing a Junior requires an excavation 1m wide by 1m deep. It
weighs 3.2t when dry and holds 3,400 litres of water. The unit can
be specified at various widths to cater for different types of
truck from road-going to ADT. It requires a three-phase electricity
supply and connection to a 20mm water main.
