McAlpine set for Victoria
Sir Robert McAlpine looks to have got its feet under the table for
an estimated £50m-plus deal to build a high-profile office/
apartments complex in central London.
It is understood that the firm is locked in negotiations with the
client, Grosvenor Estates, about the Belgrave House scheme near
Victoria station.
The centerpiece of the deal will be a seven-storey 35,000m2 office
block in Portland stone - the 1970s-built Belgrave House on the
Buckingham Palace Road site will be demolished.
The project also involves refurbishing a century-old adjacent
building, Chantry House, to provide 38 apartments as well as
ground-floor shops.
The London-based architect Michael Squire has already secured
planning consent forthe project from Westminster council.
