Memorial service for Sir Ian Dixon
The memorial service for Sir Ian Dixon will take place in
Bedfordshire in early October. All who knew the former Willmott
Dixon chairman are welcome to attend.
Sir Ian died, aged 62, on 20 July after losing his fight against
cancer. He joined John Willmott as general manager in 1967, rising
to become deputy chairman of the group in 1986.
His name was added to the company the following year in recognition
of his contribution to the business. He became joint chairman and
chief executive that year, remaining chairman until his retirement
in 1998.
Willmott Dixon group chief executive Colin Enticknap said: "It was
a real privilege to work closely alongside Ian for almost 10 years.
He committed enormous energy and 31 years of his life into growing
and shaping our business, and over that time many aspects of his
personality have become permanently engrained in our culture."
