West of Scotland Water chooses team to deliver
Exclusive by Glenda Thisdell
West of Scotland Water has chosen four industry partners to deliver
its £300m-plus non-infrastructure and infrastructure programme
over the next four years.
The winners are: the Stirling Water consortium (Gleeson/Thames
Water/Montgomery Watson) and a Biwater/George Leslie jv gaining the
non-infrastructure work worth £121m and £96m over four
years, respectively; and Amec and Johnston Construction picking up
the infrastructure work load worth £59m each over four
years.
Agreements are expected to be in place by mid-September, initially
for two years and extendable by two years subject to
performance.
The firms will be involved in planning, options development,
design, procurement and construction and commissioning of work
elements identified within the authority's quality and standards
submissions.
These include work such as: renewal of existing below- and
above-ground assets like water and waste water infrastructure;
compliance with water and waste water quality regulations; and a
number of large sewerage schemes.
