Upright passes operations control to US
UpRight UK's shareholders have agreed to pass day-to-day control of
ongoing operations to UpRight Inc, its American parent
company.
The move aims to remove what the firms see as an unnecessary tier
of bureaucracy between manufacturer and purchaser.
It also brings the distribution of UpRight's machines in the UK in
line with its activities throughout Europe.
Pam Penny, global marketing services director, said the move is
designed to make it easier for international rental companies to
source machines in the same way across the continent. She added
that the move is separate from UpRight Inc's ongoing US Chapter 11
proceedings (CJ, 20 June) and most UK customers would notice little
change.
