RMD Kwikform unveils formwork system
RMD Kwikform has unveiled a new single-sided wall formwork system
with a maximum height of 9.6m and maximum pressure of 60kN/m2. The
Ultraframe system comes in three sections providing intermediate
heights of 5m and 7.3m, with a maximum footprint of 4.79m.
The system also has a load-anchorage capacity of 500kN per frame
which the company says eliminates the need for wall ties and
external raking props: cast-in anchor templates are said to provide
accurate and secure frame alignment.
Meanwhile, 16 of the company's Megatrusses and 12 sets of four
Megashor raking props have been used by joint-venture contractor
CSM for the construction of approach viaducts for the new M2 Medway
Bridge.
Each 82m span requires the use of eight 6.3m by 128m trusses. The
overall weight of the assembly is about 900t, but it can be moved
along the viaduct.
