NG Bailey wins installation contract at Canary Wharf

The special projects division of NG Bailey & Co has secured a key role in the latest phase of the development of Canary Wharf in London.

Canary Wharf Contractors Ltd (CWCL) has chosen the trade contractor for the shell and core electrical installations at DS4, a new-build office project comprising three basement levels for car parks, promenade area and entrance lobby and 12 upper floors for tenants.

CWCL is delivering a high integrity electrical installation to its client, the trade and technical publishing company McGraw Hill, and the solution has to be both robust and resilient.

One of the key issues facing the team will be logistical. Although the area boasts some of the best public transport links in the capital, the site itself is not easily accessible for the delivery of supplies, partly because of the amount of construction work taking place so detailed planning of deliveries has to be carried out well in advance.

The project has a completion date of November 2002.
