Mowlem wins key CTRL job
Mowlem has taken a key contract on the £5.2bn Channel Tunnel
Rail Link in north London.
Contract 104H is worth around £61m and involves designing and
installing tracks and overhead line equipment at St Pancras
Station.
Client Union Railways (North) also shortlisted Balfour Beatty and
Jarvis to pitch for the deal. But both pulled out of the bidding,
leaving GrantRail as Mowlem's only rival.
Work on the two-year project is likely to start next spring.
The works will provide the final link between the CTRL London
tunnel portal at Gifford Street and the new international terminus
at St Pancras.
