A survey of SED visitors has shown that they were and are planning
to spend some serious money.
Of over 1,100 visitors questioned, 73% had purchasing or specifying
responsibility and 22% of those were expecting to place an order,
averaging £43,108, at the show.
The survey also indicated that SED's influence extends well beyond
the three days of the show itself and 40% of the purchasers were
expecting to place orders (averaging £73,430) as a result of
their visit. In addition, a further 19% of those questioned had
asked for a quote, 12% had requested a sales visit and 17% found a
new supplier.
SED's exhibition director, Mark Bresnahan said: "We had a record
breaking show on every front: 437 exhibitors with 163 taking part
for the first time and 19,431 visitors from every sector of the
construction industry, a 14.5% increase on last year."
Other interesting factors highlighted in the survey incuded 57% of
those questioned do not belong to a trade organisation and only
half had visited any other exhibition. Next year's SED runs from 29
April to 1 May at Fen Farm, Milton Keynes.
