Volvos not wasted on Mersey

Mersey Waste has taken delivery of four Volvo L120E wheeled loaders
in 'Waste Handler' specification and a Volvo L70D for operations at
Huyton, Gillmoss and Southport.
Waste Handler specification includes: a long boom; foam filled Michelin Xmine D2 tyres; hydraulically operated belly plates; windscreen protection; additional brake light; air conditioning; hydraulic attachment bracket and fire suppression system.
The machines are also equipped with cameras - Vision Techniques' 'Sensor Vision' systems - and have two front-end attachments to suit the operations at Huyton and Gillmoss.
At Gillmoss the two L120E process up to 6000t of waste per, week using 5.4m3 light materials buckets, while a hydraulic attachment bracket allows a quick changeover to a 4.5m3 high tip trash bucket to load bulk trailers.
The two L120E at Huyton have 4.5m3 high-tip buckets with trash guards (for loading high-sided bulkers), which, combined with the long boom option, gives a 5.1m dump height.
